Monaco, 15 May – Fernando Alonso will not take part in qualifying. The damage to his car, which resulted from his accident in the early part of Free Practice 3 is not repairable and therefore the chassis has to be changed; a job that requires at least four hours to complete. Fernando, who was fastest on Thursday, will therefore not be able to take part in qualifying. It seems that yet again in Monaco, Lady Luck is not spending any time in the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro garage. Even when everything seems to be in place to deliver a good result, something always goes wrong. This morning, that potential was shown by Felipe Massa, who finished second, just a few thousandths slower than Kubica: now all the team’s hopes for a good showing rest on the Brazilian’s shoulders.
