Tuukka Taponen to race with MP Motorsport in FIA F3 in 2026
Maranello 02 October 2025
The Ferrari Driver Academy is pleased to announce that it has finalised Tuukka Taponen’s racing plans for 2026. The Finnish driver, who in his rookie season in Formula 3 stood on the podium three times with a third place in the Bahrain Sprint Race, a second in Monaco’s Sprint Race and a third in the Hungaroring Feature Race, to finish ninth in the championship, will continue to compete in the same category with MP Motorsport, aiming for the title.
“I’m really pleased to join MP Motorsport for my second year in Formula 3,” said Taponen. “It’s wonderful news to have confirmation of my immediate future so early. It means that I can have a productive winter with the team and the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy ahead of me, as we work together on the best possible preparation for the 2026 season. MP Motorsport is one of the leading teams in the championship, having finished third in this year’s teams standings, and I look forward to becoming part of their family and adding to their success.”
Tuukka joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in 2023, the same year he made his single-seater debut after his karting career. Between Formula 4, Formula Regional and Formula 3, the Finn has contested 104 races so far, winning 14 of them and securing the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East title.
