Ferrari leaves Belgium celebrating victory in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, thanks to the 499P number 51, with the number 50 crew securing second place. For the Maranello manufacturer, this marks a third consecutive win in the opening three rounds of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season. Here are the post-race comments.
Antonio Fuoco, 499P #50: “With second place at Spa, we picked up some important points for the Drivers’ standings. That’s the most positive takeaway from the weekend, along with Ferrari’s third straight win in an incredible start to the season.”
Miguel Molina, 499P #50: “We led the race from the beginning and did a fantastic job, even though we were hoping to win at the 6 Hours. Overall, second place is definitely a strong result, and we bring home a significant haul of championship points, especially for the Constructors’ title, which is Ferrari’s main target this year. This was a good day for Ferrari.”
Nicklas Nielsen, 499P #50: “Ferrari’s one-two at Spa is an extraordinary result for the team, and we’re delighted, even if there’s a touch of regret, as we had hoped to be on the top step of the podium. Now we look ahead to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the season’s most important race. It’s difficult to predict how we’ll compare to the competition, but morale is high after such a strong start to the year.”
Alessandro Pier Guidi, 499P #51: “To win again after standing on the top step of the podium at Imola is incredible. This year, we’re showing the true strength of our team and the progress we’ve made since our debut in 2023. Here at Spa, we did an excellent job managing tyre wear and executing the team’s strategy perfectly. That allowed us to build the result hour by hour, a result that ultimately saw two Ferraris finish in the top places.”
James Calado, 499P #51: After the free practice sessions, we knew this 6 Hours wouldn’t be an easy race, and we prepared accordingly, focusing on how best to manage the tyres, as we demonstrated today. Winning two races in a row is an extraordinary achievement. I want to congratulate my teammates and the entire team. We’re absolutely delighted, but we know the next race, the 24 Hours, is the most important and anticipated of the year, and our focus is already on the challenge that awaits us.”
Antonio Giovinazzi, 499P #51: “My first thought is to thank the entire team, starting with the mechanics, who did a fantastic job on Thursday after the crash in FP2 to get the 499P back on track straight away. We knew that to achieve a strong result at Spa, everything would have to go perfectly, and it did. I think today’s result is extraordinary. We secured another win and finished with two Ferraris in the top places. We’ve built something important here at Spa.”
Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti: “We’re delighted with the victory and the one-two finish for the 499P in the Hypercar class. It wasn't an easy race, and, as we noted in the lead-up, several competitors were powerful and fully capable of contending for the win. The lap times and narrow gaps at the finish confirmed this.
We also leave Belgium with a fantastic win for our 296 LMGT3 in the GT class. That result is especially satisfying, given how close we came to a 24 Hours triumph at this circuit last year. Thanks to an outstanding race strategy, exceptional drivers and a remarkable team effort, we achieved this victory after six hours of racing with gaps measured in tenths of a second.”
Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of Ferrari Endurance Race Cars: After an excellent result in qualifying, we knew the race would be a different story. After the free practice sessions, it was clear that our rivals were highly competitive and that we didn’t have the strongest race pace. Despite that, a flawless performance and an excellent team strategy kept us in contention right to the end. Even with a bit of a struggle in the closing stages, we managed to get two Ferraris onto the top steps of the podium. We regret the issue we had with the Ferrari 499P number 83, the only disappointment in an otherwise memorable weekend.”
