Driver comments after qualifying at Fuji

Fuji 27 September 2025

The Ferrari 499P number 51 will start from sixth place on the grid for the 6 Hours of Fuji, the penultimate round of the 2025 FIA WEC. Four places further back is the number 83 car of the AF Corse team, while the other 499P of the official Ferrari – AF Corse team, number 50, will start 15th. Here are the statements collected after qualifying and the Hyperpole.

Antonio Giovinazzi, 499P #51: “It was a positive qualifying session considering the difficulties we had in the free practice sessions: this is the best result we could have achieved. The starting position is good and our race pace is more competitive than our dry lap pace, so the goal for tomorrow is to stay in the points and, if possible, gain a few positions compared to today.”

Antonio Fuoco, 499P #50:  “We expected a tough qualifying and that’s how it turned out. To make it through to Hyperpole we needed a perfect lap and a bit of luck with the traffic. Both conditions were missing and unfortunately on the last attempt I made a small mistake, which was enough to stop us going through to the next session. Tomorrow’s race will also be tricky, but we’ll try to move up the standings and fight to bring home useful points for the championship.”
