Comments from the winners of Race 2 at Phillip Island
Jim Pollicina, Trofeo Pirelli winner: “It’s all championship points at the end of the day. I feel sorry for what happened to the guys. It was an unfortunate incident, and it’s a shame. We’ll take the points and push on to the next round.”
Masahiro Taguchi, Coppa Shell winner: “It’s one of the more iconic tracks in Australia, and to win here, we will be going out to celebrate with the memory of the incident during the race in our minds as it involved our rivals and friends. We came from the Club Challenge series and I was one of the most experienced drivers in that, but this is my first win in this class, and it is great to get the first victory.”
Ross Tomain, Trofeo Pirelli 488 winner: “It was a bit of a disappointing start. The team just gave me a bit of a pep talk to say ‘come on, you’ve got this, keep your head down’ and that’s what we did. The car felt very, very fast at the end and certainly ready to be driven harder. It was so much fun and having the support of my little girls here from the Gold Coast – I’m very blessed.”
