Comments from the Race 2 podium at Suzuka

Suzuka 29 March 2026

Round 1, Race 2 of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Japan was held once again at Suzuka Circuit. In a race marked by several key moments, the drivers who distinguished themselves in each class spoke positively after another competitive contest.

Akihiro Tsuzuki, winner in the Trofeo Pirelli: I am very pleased to have secured two consecutive pole-to-win results. I was also glad to remain calm and regain the position through the Esses immediately after the start. Tyre management was working well, so I felt comfortable throughout the race, but the start is certainly an area to review ahead of Round 2.

Motohiro Kotani, winner in the Trofeo Pirelli Am: As I competed in formula racing last year, I spent a season away from Ferrari Challenge, which makes this first victory since 2024 especially meaningful. I am delighted to have achieved a pole-to-win result. I moved into the overall lead at Turn 1 on the opening lap, but as I was managing the tyres carefully, I chose not to overcommit and instead settled into the race. Although the safety car period shortened the race, I felt confident throughout that, with fresh tyres, I had the pace to secure the win.

Kenbow, winner in the Coppa Shell: I made another difficult start in Race 2 and dropped to second in class, but I was able to regain the position within the same lap. I understand that several strong drivers may move into the class for the next round at Okayama International Circuit, so I will continue working hard to maintain this momentum.

Z.Falcon, winner in the Coppa Shell Am: I am very pleased to have achieved a second consecutive pole-to-win result following yesterday’s race. Starting fourth overall in Race 2 and moving up to third with an overtake on the opening lap was a real boost to my confidence. It was especially satisfying to deliver this result at Suzuka Circuit, such an iconic stage that also hosts Formula 1. Although the race was shortened by the safety car period, it still proved to be a perfect result.
