Driver comments after Race-2 at Spa

Spa-Francorchamps 21 September 2025

After a night of heavy rain, the second day of racing at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit delivered thrilling races and close battles, as well as the first title of the 2025 Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe, with Hendrik Viol (Scuderia Praha Racing) crowned Trofeo Pirelli Am class champion.

Home driver Gilles Renmans (Francorchamps Motors Brussels) won the Trofeo Pirelli race and expressed all his satisfaction after the podium:
“Winning the home race was definitely one of this year’s goals, so I’m really happy I managed to do it. After the restart following the red flag, my engineer told me that the car in P1 had a drive-through to serve, so I knew I just had to manage the race, stay on track and bring home the victory – and that’s what we did. So yes, I’m really happy.”

On the day when Viol achieved his dream of clinching the title, the driver from Alto Adige, David Gostner (CDP – MP Racing), prevailed in the Trofeo Pirelli Am race: “For me it’s really emotional and wonderful to be here with all my family. They give me so much energy and strength, and today was beautiful. The car was excellent and I had great feelings. Thanks to everyone.”

In the Coppa Shell, a fine victory went to Oscar Ryndziewicz (Kessel Racing), who stays in contention for final success: “I don’t think the emotion can be described. It was an incredible race. Manuela Gostner and everyone fought really hard, and just standing on that podium was absolutely incredible. I can’t wait for Mugello.”

It was a double win on the Ardennes circuit for German driver Jan Sandmann (Kessel Racing), who closed the gap to leader Sven Schömer (Penske Hamburg Motorsport) ahead of the final round at Mugello: “The car was perfect and now, after this fantastic weekend with two wins, two pole positions and two fastest laps, we are closing in on the top of the standings. So obviously, we want to win the championship and will do our best. The weekend was simply fantastic. Yes, we can’t wait to go to Mugello.”
