Weekend preview: Ferrari chasing the DTM title at Hockenheim

Final round of the 2025 DTM championship with the title to be decided in the two races at Hockenheim, where three Ferrari 296 GT3 cars of Emil Frey Racing will be competing, including Jack Aitken’s, still in contention for the crown. At Donington Park, the season finale of the British GT Championship also features a Ferrari on the grid.
DTM. The outcome of the German series remains uncertain, with nine drivers still in contention for the title with two races to go. The Hockenheim circuit will be the stage for the last battles, with Jack Aitken also trying to stage a comeback after two unlucky rounds at the Sachsenring and Spielberg. The former Formula 1 driver, at the wheel of Emil Frey Racing’s number 14 296 GT3, currently lies sixth, 21 points behind the leader ahead of a weekend with 56 points up for grabs.
Emil Frey Racing, still in the running in the team standings where it currently holds fourth place, 34 points adrift of the leaders, will also field two other cars, number 10 with Ben Green and number 69 with Thierry Vermeulen. Ferrari stands fourth in the manufacturers' standings and still has a chance of victory.
Qualifying-1 is scheduled for Saturday at 9.35 a.m., with the race kicking off at 1.30 p.m. over a one-hour distance, the same timetable being repeated on Sunday, 5 October.
British GT Championship. Final act for the British series at Donington Park. Spirit of Race’s Ferrari returns to action after missing Brands Hatch due to clashing commitments with the European Le Mans Series. The number 55 296 GT3, entered in the Pro Am class, will feature Briton Duncan Cameron and Irishman Matt Griffin.
On Saturday, 4 October, the two GT3 qualifying sessions will start at 3.50 p.m. and 4.04 p.m., with the two-hour race set to kick off on Sunday, 5 October at 1.15 p.m.
