Perrina closing in on title in Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America
Maranello 13 August 2025
Just two events remain before another remarkable season of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli North America draws to a close: the highly anticipated final North American round at Laguna Seca in early September, followed by the Finali Mondiali at the Mugello circuit in late October.
The five rounds held so far – Sonoma, Daytona, Miami, Indianapolis and Watkins Glen – have featured the 296 Challengers competing with an impressive number of participants.
Races on some of North America's most iconic circuits haven't yet produced final results across all four classes, although a clear favourite has emerged in the main class.
Trofeo Pirelli. With a 47-point lead over his closest rival, Massimo Perrina is a clear title contender after winning five straight races and six overall. The Ferrari of Seattle driver will face new challenges when racing resumes, especially from Dylan Medler (The Collection), who also competes in the European series, and from his uncle and teammate Roberto, who still has a mathematical chance of winning.
In the Trofeo Pirelli Am, Bred Fauvre (Ferrari of San Francisco) maintained the top spot in the standings thanks to a second-place finish in Race-1 at Watkins Glen. However, his 25-point lead, with 72 points still available, over Sebastian Mascaro (Ferrari of Central Florida) offers little comfort. Several other drivers, including David Musial (Ferrari of Lake Forest), Ofir Levy (Ferrari of Silicon Valley), and Jay Logan (Ferrari of Austin), are also still in the hunt, all separated by just a few points.
Coppa Shell. The Coppa Shell contest is far tighter, with Yahn Bernier (Ferrari of Seattle) and Mitchell Green (Ferrari Westlake) leading the title fight. Bernier earned two second-place finishes at Watkins Glen, while Green narrowed the gap to just 11 points behind the leader after his second double-win of the season. With identical podium finishes in both Race-1 and Race-2 at the last round, Gary Ott (Ferrari of Philadelphia) kept his championship hopes alive with two third-place results. He now trails the leader by 56 points.
The Coppa Shell Am title race also remains undecided, with Gabe Hrib (Ferrari of Atlanta) and Michael Owens (Ferrari of Alberta) locked in a close battle at the top of the standings. After the Watkins Glen round, the two are tied on points, with just 16 points separating them in the overall standings. Louis Flory (Ferrari of Houston) is 52 points behind the leader, but his Race-1 victory at the most recent round makes him the most successful driver in the class in 2025, with three wins to his name.
